The power of botanical ingredients

When I started living with my dogs, first with Pippo and later with Bella and Riva, I soon began to wonder what ‘natural product‘ really meant.

After reading various INCI lists—an international designation used to label different ingredients—and testing many products on my own skin, I realized that often the adjectives used were purely for commercial purposes and not for the true interest in the dog and its well-being.

Pippotheweim products—a line that is becoming increasingly complete—were born from my personal interest in the properties of nature itself.

Contact with nature is already very important for us and our dogs, and I wanted it to also come through the Pippotheweim botanical cosmetic products.

Let’s close our eyes and think of seeds, fruits, flowers, leaves, and other tiny parts of plants. There is everything needed both to prevent many skin and body issues and to improve the well-being of our dogs. That’s why I wanted to create a completely natural line, and the presence of essential oils and hydrosols plays a fundamental role.

I believe it’s very important to understand the difference between products based on synthetic fragrances (very common) and natural products containing only aromatic substances of direct botanical origin. Synthetic fragrances have little to no therapeutic value, while the use of real plant substances helps to rebalance the body. All of us—animals, people, and plants—are interconnected, and the qualities of essential oils highlight this union very well.

When products contain essential oils and hydrosols—as is the case with my line—there are always qualitative variations to consider. These aspects are fundamental for the benefit of the cosmetic product.

Essential oils and hydrosols are not used just for their aesthetic aspects, but especially for the physiological effects of their use thanks to their chemical composition.

Science does not study nature to surpass it but only to know it more deeply, and with the right ingredients, the correct dosage, and use, something very special is truly created: the power of nature in a package.

The properties are numerous: antibacterial, antifungal, anti-itch, regenerating, anti-inflammatory, calming, or stimulating for the nervous system.

As you may have already guessed, the qualities of essential oils and aromatherapy are not just for people.

Thanks to the physiological affinities of dogs with us humans, in recent years some French veterinarians have started to include these plant substances in their practices and to implement essential oil-based therapies that are even covered by the French healthcare system. A wonderful step forward.

The application of botanical-origin products—containing natural oils and hydrosols—provides and transmits benefits not only on a physical level but also on an emotional level. Another part not to be underestimated!

I firmly believe that natural ingredients help us and our dogs to be in tune with our bodies and to strengthen this unique bond. Contact and approaching is also a demonstration of trust from the dog.
